What is inclusion? and why does it matter?

Inclusion is being a fully integrated part of something where each person feels welcomed, valued and accepted. Inclusion is the basis of human connection.

Not being connected to something can lead to depression, isolation and have a lifelong negative impact on human development and mental well-being.

Inclusion matters.

The goal of a sensory-friendly event is to make the environment as inclusive as possible to all people. Some people forego attending certain events for a variety of reasons, some of which can be met by making minor modifications and providing a sensory friendly space. Thank you to our community partners who are helping make our dream of a fully inclusive and accessible Union County a reality!
